Multinational

Imagine a multinational company that is around for many years, having their headquarters in Europe and are represented in many territories all over the world. They have millions of consumers and a professional staff to support and train their customers. There are weekly gatherings of staff and customers to discuss the products and how to apply them. This company is centrally lead and has strict policies on their staff and customer behavior, ethics, information streams and product lifecycle management. The customers are happy with the products, even so that they pay a tenth of their income to company. This makes the company very profitable.

The products will last a customer life long and beyond! The professional staff seems to be a bit odd. The CEO and male staff wear long skirts and strange hats, usually on Sundays and the female staff is usually dressed in black. The dedication for the company on the staff requires that they do not marry so that they are not distracted in the execution of their jobs. The men seem to have a higher status then the women. They are prominent in any gathering with the clients. The females have a more submissive presence.

Now imagine that it becomes clear that male staff all over the world sexually abused little boys over many years. This could happen since the customer's children can have small jobs in the company too. This means that the male staff and the boys are together regularly. In case some information becomes public, the company will start a communication plan to mitigate the consequences. Usually first by denying it. One employee, confronted with a sexual abuse of a small boy, even used the same sentence that German soldiers used after the Second Worldwar:"Ich hab es nicht gewusst" (I did not know). The female staff is also accused of abusing and humiliating girls under their custody. Example is a subdivision of the company, that oddly is named after a prostitute, where female staff exploited girls. Sometimes these girls were at the companies disposal because they only looked pretty! It took a few years for the company to accept guild and they start compensating the victims.

In real life, this company would cease to exist. Customers would drop the company massively disgusted about the behavior of the staff. However, for some strange reason this company still exist. Maybe a little poorer but it is still there.

It is easy to recognize the Roman Catholic church in this example. It is still amazing that they get away with this. By paying off the victims they want to close this as soon as possible. Church money is used to pay for sex just for staff that should be celibate. This happens when you messing with one of the most strongest force in human and animal life. People and animals want to propagate. Nature (not God) gave us genetic components that enable is to breed and multiply. Maslov's pyramid  places sex in the same level as breathing, need for water and food. Celibacy is a recipe for disaster.

Beaukey's suggestion: release the ban on sexuality in the Roman Catholic church. Let them have sex with each other or provide prostitutes. Maybe just let them marry (by the same or the other sex) to experience the same day-by-day experiences as their laity. Do not mess around with the strongest force of people and animals. It has been proven that it does not work or serve any purpose.

TSA and preventing terroristic attacks

The Transport Security Administration (TSA) is responsible for the border control in the US. You will find them on the airports and harbors checking you luggage and managing the magnetic ports and body scanners. There has already a lot been said on their methods and the effectiveness but sometimes you read "interesting" news. Some examples:

There are messages at airports that the TSA "vows" that during a body search, you will be searched by a person of the same sex as you.
Does the TSA employ homosexual staff?
- How can I be sure that the TSA man (yes, I'm a man too) is not homosexual and getting aroused by touching my private parts?
- If I am a homosexual, how will a potential straight TSA man respond on my hard-on when he searches me?

There seems to be no discrimination in age or sex of persons to be searched
Does the TSA employ pedosexual staff?
- There are movies on the internet that shows TSA female staff body searching very young girls touching in the girl's underwear and other private parts (puke here and here) .

Beaukey's suggestion: TSA staff should be marked with a sign that show their sexual preference (straight, home, pedo, geronto etc.) so that you can choose or reject that person all or not depending on your own sexual preference. There might be global accepted signs for male or female homosexuals and I suggest a pink Minnie Mouse sign for the pedosexual staff.

Bodyscanners
There are now pads for sale that you can put in your underwear/bra to prevent your private parts to be shown on bodyscanner images. This might result in a bodysearch anyhow because the bodyscanner will show the pads. The TSA claims that the pictures have the faces blurred before inspection but you and I know that the images are sent unedited to some system that blurs. Beside that, you can bet your ass that these image are stored (unblurred, including metadata) in some system.

Beaukey's suggestion: we get rid of that damn shame of being naked in front of other people. Just undress yourself completely in the screening area, have all your clothes go through the X-ray scanner. This also will prevent body searches (unless the TSA put on their Lates gloves and....).

Effectiveness
Also there are messages on airports that you are not allowed to bring your toner kits of 16 ounce or more in hand luggage. These message are next to the message that you might bring a gun, but it needs to unloaded, in some case and separated from the ammunition and some other requirements (John Wayne Airport, Phoenix, AR). The sign for the toner is put there probably due to the incident with a toner kit that was reworked into a bomb a few months ago. Damn, I'd always used to bring my large toners traveling all over the world. That would give me my own black or colored images out of the printer in the office.
Personally I think the toner bomb was a test for the parcel scanners and that method is in the picture now with the TSA -and- the terrorists. I do not think that it will be used again. I do not think that terrorists are stupid, by the way...

Luchtvaart ergernissen

Ten tweede: gezelschappen. Voetballers of collega's. Ten derde: dikke mensen.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

"Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" is a 1974 published book by Robert M. Pirsig. As he states in the introduction of the book:"it should in no way be associated with that great body of factual information relating to orthodox Zen Buddhist practice. It's not very factual on motorcycles, either.".

The reason why I mention the book here is that it contains many subjects of motorcycle maintenance that makes sense. E.g. when he explains working on a bike, a Japanese motorcycle maintenance manual starts with:"Assembly of Japanese bicycle require great peace of mind.". We all know that when you have to repair something and you are stressed by some reason, there is a great chance that something goes wrong due the state that you are in. You can't find the tool again you used one minute ago, you break something being not cautious or you forget a bolt that need to applied before you assemble all the parts.

This book might be a bit over top for ordinary bike owners (like me) since it deals with philosophical aspects (on the quality) of live. It tells a story of a father and a son who are riding on a holiday from the east to the west of the US. During this trip it becomes clear that things from the past are influencing the memory and state-of-mind of both. The maintenance of motorcycles is woven into the story and many examples are very familiar of anyone that is doing their own maintenance. Nice detail: father and son travel together with another couple. That guy is riding a 1966 BMW R60/2 while Pirsig seems to ride a Honda Superhawk CB77.

Alea iacta est !

"The die has been cast !".  Julius Ceasar said this on January 10, 49 BC, after passing the North Italian river Rubicon when there was no point of return, causing a war between the Roman empire and the Pompey and Optimates.

The new BWM R1200RT has been ordered. This will be the third bike I own. After a Yamaha Diversion 900 and a Honda NT700VA ("Deauville") now the real works start. This is the preview:

2011 BMW R1200RT Ostra Grey metallic matt

It has every option our dear Lord ever thought of being on a bike: cruise control, heated seat + handlebars, electronically adjustable suspension, ABS, traction control, electrical adjustable windscreen and almost more luggage room than a Smart. This means serious Touring (with a capital).

Not extremely much HP or torque in comparison with the FJR, Pan or GT but should be the ultimate touring bike with a "bite" when things got tough. Reviews of this bike shows a really hard time to find negative points. Long distance, heavy curved mountain roads and anything in between can be done easily. Steering and handling is lighter than a moped (also due to its relative light weight).

So what next? Wait for July 20 for the bike to delivered. We first go on holidays by our Volkswagen, nota bene to Scotland! The land that was created for bike riding! After that first put some mileage on the odometer to get acquainted with the bike. Maybe doing some trips to Germany, Belgium and Luxemburg. There are some panoramic trips available in the navigation device.

Of cause this bike will be enhanced. First thing to apply is a fender extender. I used products from Pyramid Plastics before and they offer good debris protection for a reasonable price. Other mods might be, but are not limited to, LED back light an turning lights, Xenon headlights, reflective tape on wheels and chassis, maybe a second LED brake light or fog light.

Now first holidays in Scotland and wait for July 20th.
